-As you know, our school day start time changed this year to 8:20am. Our warning bell rings at 8:15. Thank you for adjusting your morning routine to meet this new start time.
-The building still opens at 7:30am and breakfast runs from 7:30-8:10am. All students are welcome to have breakfast, which they can purchase with the extra lunch card in their locker. PreK and Kindergarten students must have an adult present with them for breakfast.
-We are more than a month into the school year, and by now all Lower School students can walk to their locker or the morning room on their own, except PreK, who needs to be dropped off (per the state requirements). This is an important way to hone our skills of independence and organization. It is also helpful to say “goodbye” to parents at the door or the car.
The LS has a new dismissal time of 3:00pm this year. This is one of the ways we are trying to alleviate some congestion in our parking lot. The MS and US dismiss at 3:15. Thank you for your patience as we have navigated our dismissal plan. Changing a routine after twenty-five years can be challenging, but I am so grateful for your patience and assistance! Just a few notes on dismissal:
-PreK parents should remain in their cars with their students after they pick them up. If you are waiting for older siblings, please do not exit your car.
-There is no parking in the Playground Lot at any time during dismissal (or in the mornings). If you choose to park, please do so in the Front East Lot and walk to get your child(ren).
–All Lower School students must be picked up by 3:15pm. If you need to wait for older siblings, please park in the Front East Lot after you collect your LS student(s).
-After 3:15, LS students will be brought to Kidventures for supervision, and there will be a cost for that service.
