Providence Academy Parent Association

A Letter from the PAPA President

On Behalf of the Providence Academy Parent Association (PAPA), I would like to extend a warm welcome to both new and returning Providence Academy families for the 2017-2018 school year. The chief purpose of PAPA is to support Providence Academy’s philosophy, mission and curriculum. We are also the volunteer arm of the school and assist in fundraising efforts, as well as facilitate communication between the school and parents.

PAPA membership is not limited to the executive committee and includes the entire parent community. Your participation is needed and we invite each of you to get involved by signing up for one of the many volunteer opportunities located on the the Providence Academy Volunteer Page. For your convenience, you may find descriptions of several Volunteer Opportunities for the 2017-18 School Year by clicking the link. If each parent volunteers for as little as 10 hours a year, we can have an enormous impact on our kids’ experiences. Also, volunteering is a great way to get to know other parents, staff and our children’s friends.

In an attempt to make things convenient for the PA community, Providence has only one fundraiser each year—the Providence Academy Gala. Over the years it has been expressed that many parents in the school would like PAPA to host the Gala on campus, as it was during the first few years of the school’s existence. It is with great joy to announce that the 2018 Gala will be hosted at Providence Academy. The Gala is scheduled to take place on January 27th, the weekend before Minnesota hosts the Super Bowl, which is the inspiration for our theme: “The Super Gala”.

Another notable event that PAPA will sponsor is a digital citizens speaker, Josh Osch, for students grades 5 through 12 in October. His presentation for parents will be the evening of October 11th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. I encourage all parents to attend. This presentation is designed to not only help parents protect their children from the dangers of the technological world but also contains some useful advice that could help your child’s college application process.

In closing, I would like to ask you to pray for everyone involved with our school. Most of all that Jesus will guide the students of Providence and protect them as they walk the complex paths of the world today and give them the grace to reap abundant fruits from their experience and education at Providence Academy.

God Bless,
