Admission Process

Step One: Request Information Packet

Contact us to request an information packet. You may call (763) 258-2502 or request a packet from Mrs. Susan Truax at susan.truax@providenceacademy.org.

Step Two: Attend and Open House

Attend an Open House or Preview Day. Participating in an Open House or Preview Day is a great opportunity to learn more about Providence and meet our faculty and staff. We offer student and parent led tours to share their experiences.

Open House

Open House
Sunday, January 29, 2017
2:00 p.m.

If you are not able to join us for an Open House, personal tours are available daily by scheduling an appointment.  Please call Mrs. Susan Truax in the Admissions Office at (763) 258-2502 to schedule.

Step Three: Schedule a Day Visit

While not required, we strongly encourage scheduling a Day Visit experience. Students entering Kindergarten through 12th grade may shadow a current PA student for either a half or entire school day. Please contact our Day Visit Coordinator, Mrs. Sally Nathe at (763) 258-2561 to customize your child’s visit. We tailor the visit so each guest can be placed with a current student who shares similar interests, and has a class schedule that matches the types of classes he/she is most interested in visiting. The Day Visit experience is offered throughout our admission process.

Step Four: Apply online

Follow the instructions on our Apply Now page to complete the online application process.

Step Five: Interviews and Testing

Schedule Parent and Student interviews and admissions entrance exam. Assessments and interviews may be conducted at the same appointment.

Students entering grades Pre-K-6th grade are scheduled individually when the application is received.

We administer a developmental assessment for students entering Pre-Kindergarten.

Students entering Kindergarten and 1st grade will use the AABL (Admission Assessment for Beginning Learners) entrance exam. Students entering 2nd grade through 12th grade will be assessed using the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam). A staff member in our admissions office will reach out to schedule testing once the application for admission has been submitted.

Step Six: Transcript and Referrals

Request the Transcript/report cards from the last two full years of school.

Submit the Teacher Referrals (one from a current teacher for grades Pre-K-5th, one from a Math Teacher, plus one from an English Teacher for 6th grade and above).

Admission Decision Timeline

The Admissions Committee will review admission files once all required application components have been completed. The priority application deadline is January 17, 2017, and the first round of admission decisions will be mailed the first week of March.
All applications submitted after the priority deadline will be reviewed on a rolling basis as long as space remains available.
