Extended Day

Lower School Extended Day

Lower School students in grades Pre-Kindergarten – 5th grade may enter the school building at 7:30 a.m. Students may play chess or checkers, read a book, visit quietly with friends, or watch a child-friendly video. At 8:15 a.m., students are dismissed to their classrooms. Before school care is supervised by Providence Academy staff.

Many Lower School students remain at Providence after the dismissal bell each day in order to participate in our popular Extended Day programs.  For Providence families seeking a fee-based, supervised after-school care program, Kidventures and Little Pals are excellent on-site options where Lower School students can spend time with friends in a positive and safe environment.

Little Pals

This program is designed for our Pre-Kindergarten friends. It includes a daily snack, recess time, free play and organized activity times. Program hours are 3:05 – 6:00 p.m.

Kidventures

This program is designed for our Kindergarten – fifth grade friends. Students will be separated into groups according to age. It includes a daily snack, homework time, recess, free play and organized activity times. Program hours are 3:15 – 6:00 p.m.

Homework Club

This program is open Monday – Friday from 3:15 – 4:30 p.m., and is designed for our third through fifth grade friends that are looking for a quiet space to complete their homework. It includes a snack, and a quiet work time with limited help from adult leader(s) and upper school student helpers.

Spring Break

Our Extended Day coordinators also plan and supervise a fun and exciting all-day camp during the first week of Providence Academy’s spring break in March. Details will be posted when they are available.

Middle School Extended Day

Middle School students waiting for practice or activity, or waiting to be picked up to go home, have the option to remain after school until their event begins or their ride home arrives. Students are allowed to study quietly, talk with friends, play games and have a snack. Students participating in the experience are expected to comport themselves in a respectful manner and clean up after themselves. The program is coordinated by experienced teachers. Please access the PA Middle School Extended Day FAQ for more information about the Middle School Extended Day program and download the MS Extended Day Enrollment Form.
