Today marks 22 years since the fateful events of September 11. Our annual observance shows honor for lives lost that day and the great heroism of New York and DC first responders. It shows honor as well to first responders in our own community who are willing to put others above self, at personal risk. We want to instill in our children and young people a sense of higher purpose. There are not many better moments for doing this than during our annual solemn observance.
