The Providence Academy Athletic Department is excited to announce the appointment of Jaylaan Wimbush as our new Strength and Conditioning Program Coordinator. With a diverse background in teaching and coaching, Jaylaan is well-equipped to lead and enhance the strength and conditioning program for all of our athletic teams.
Currently a 5th grade teacher at Saint Raphael Catholic School, Jaylaan will be joining our team this Spring to offer after-school training sessions in the weight room. We are also working on plans to provide summer training opportunities with Mr. Wimbush. In the Fall, Jaylaan will transition to a full-time role, serving both as a Physical Education teacher as well as the Strength and Conditioning Program Coordinator.
A native of St. Petersburg, FL, Jaylaan was a standout defensive back at North Dakota State University, where he contributed to the Bison’s National Championship standards by winning 4 Championships during his time at NDSU. He graduated in 2018 with a B.A. in English and is working towards completing his master’s degree in Education at the University of St. Thomas.
He is big on family with a wife and three young boys and hopes to be able to bring that same faith and family centered approach to teaching and coaching each student and student-athlete he is able to coach along the way.
Please help welcome Jaylaan Wimbush to the Providence Academy family.
Blessings,
Daren E. Messmore
