Here we are again, another spectacular year has closed. Our 2024 – 2025 school year is officially in the PA history book. We would like to take this opportunity to reflect on, summarize and share some of the school year events that were sponsored by our Providence Academy Parent Association (PAPA).

PAPA supported our community with many great events. Some of those include:

    • Meals for faculty during the fall and spring conferences
    • Christmas breakfast for our faculty and staff along with Christmas gifts
    • Several appreciation experiences to our faculty and staff.
    • Ongoing coffees, lattes, and cappuccinos provided from our specialty coffee machine.
      • This is a fan favorite!

APA planned a variety of Lower School events for students and families including:

    • The New Parent Orientation
    • Homecoming Ice Cream Social
    • Fall Fun Fair
    • Sock Hop
    • Family Service Project
    • Teacher Gifts for Catholic Schools Week
    • End-of-Year Picnic

Lower School Classroom Representatives, with the support of Lower School Vice Presidents, assisted the teachers in planning class events, gathering volunteers for class specific needs and managing grade-level budgets. We are truly thankful for our Lower School Classroom Representatives who served last year:

In the Middle School, PAPA planned the following event for Middle School students:

    • AIM in August to welcome new middle school students.
    • Organized and delivered the 6-8th grade Parent Party at Broadway Pizza in Maple Grove (this was the first time for a multi-grade Parent Party!)
    • Assisted with the Homecoming party with games, DJ and pizza.
    • Catholic Schools Week celebration with root beer floats for the kids during lunch.
    • Recognized the MS staff with gift bags of goodies.
    • A community service project.
    • Celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week for teachers and staff with a few treats.

PAPA supported the Upper School this year through many events.

    • Kick-off donuts for 1st week of school for all US students was a hit!
    • Treats were provided as a pop-up surprise during Homecoming week.
    • Upper School faculty, staff and administration received our gratitude with a gift card tree
where each faculty member could select a treat.
    • Treats during finals in the fall and spring showed our love and support for their hard work.
    • Teacher Gifts for Catholic Schools Week
    • Worked with our Admissions Office to develop and deliver a New Family Orientation for
      US families.
    • As a special treat for the seniors, PAPA sponsored a Jimmy John’s lunch and a root beer float when they finished their last Spring final.
    • Supported the Graduate yard signs for our seniors.

As far as fundraising goes, PAPA hosted three major events: Used Uniform Sales, Fall Fun Fair, and Gala.

Used Uniform Sale
Two uniform sales were organized– one in August and another “flash sale” in January.
We raised over $11,500 between those two sales.

Fall Fun Fair
In November, we raised $8,300 at our Fall Fun Fair.

Providence Academy Gala
April 26th marked our “Rock the Den” Gala. The 24th annual event delivered some new experiences that included ‘80s rock heroes. The night was incredibly fun and engaging.

We rock’d raising funds with one of our highest fundraising Galas. We would like to recognize Anne Jewison and Sara Danforth for their creativity and leadership in working with our Development Office to execute on a memorable event.

These amazing events help us not only to fundraise, but they also provide us with memorable community building experiences. A very special thank you to the amazing leaders and volunteers who delivered these events and raised money for our beloved school.

Since PAPA includes our entire parent community, the PAPA Board would like to recognize and thank each of YOU for your support, prayers, and gifts of talent and time. The investments that you have made in our students, faculty, and staff are priceless!

Thank you to those who served on our 2024-2025 Executive PAPA Board:

President: Debbie Larson
Vice President: Hilary Sanborn
Treasurer: Peter Schnobrich
Secretary: Lauren O’Neil
