Children and families will create Easter baskets for homeless children staying with their families at Mary’s Place shelter at Sharing and Caring Hands. Families will also assemble bags filled with school supplies for a summer program at Ascension Academy, a Catholic school serving the North Side of Minneapolis. Below is a grade-level breakout of the items requested.
PreK, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grades:
- Pre-K and Kindergarten: Bags of pre-wrapped candy (No jelly beans, gum, or loose candy) and Small stuffed animals
- 1st: Stickers and crayons/markers (small packages) and Small stuffed animals
- 2nd: Small stuffed animals (watch for valentines sale stuff or ONE Spot Target items)
3rd, 4th, and 5th Grades:
- 3rd: Washable Markers (classic colors 8pk or 10pk), crayons (24 pack), glue sticks
- 4th: Scissors (child) and notebooks (wide ruled)
- 5th: Washable paint, colored pencils (12pk) and regular pencils
