As we begin the school year, it is worth reviewing the procedures that can help us welcome our students in the morning and dismiss them in the afternoon safely and efficiently. With increased enrollment this year, it is especially important that we follow our procedures to keep traffic moving. Please observe the following reminders as you drop off and pick up your child in our parking lot:
When dropping off your child in front of the school in the morning…
- If you are dropping your child off at the curb in front of the building, pull forward as far as you can toward the Performing Arts Center. This allows us to fit more cars behind your car at one time and makes drop-off more efficient for everyone.
- When dropping your child off at the curb, stay in your car and have your child exit the car as quickly as possible.
- If you need to park your car to enter the building or give your child more time to arrive, pull into the parking lot instead of parking by the curb in front of the building.
- Whenever possible, use the new exit lane to make a right turn on to Schmidt Lake Road as you leave the parking lot.
When picking up your child in the afternoon…
- If you are picking your child up at the curb in front of the building, please pull forward as far as you can toward the Performing Arts Center. This allows us to fit more cars in at one time and makes it easier for families to exit.
- If you need to exit your car to wait in front of the school or enter the school, please park in the parking lot. This keeps traffic moving in front of the school.
- Do not form a second line in front of the curb when picking up your child, as this blocks cars from driving through to the lot. If you cannot pick your child up at the curb in front of the school, please park in the parking lot to meet your child.
- Whenever possible, use the new exit lane to make a right turn on to Schmidt Lake Road to make a faster exit.
