Each year, PA college counseling offers two administrations of the ACT (paper/pencil) for juniors (opt-in for seniors) in October and March, respectively, as well as a single option for juniors (and sophomores) to sit for the digital PSAT exam on the designated Saturday in October. See below for details and registration information:

  • Fall ACT at PA: The fall ACT (with Science, without Writing) at PA will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 for all Juniors and opt-in for Seniors. Seniors not opting to take the ACT will otherwise participate in a session with College Counseling that morning. IMPORTANT NOTE: Student accounts will be charged $72 for the exam. Seniors must register HERE no later than September 4, 2025. All Juniors will be automatically registered for the October 14 ACT at Providence Academy. Please contact Mr. Andrew Wolf, ACT Coordinator, with any questions.
  • Fall PSAT at PA: PA Juniors and Sophomores may opt to take the digital PSAT/NMSQT on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Providence Academy. The main purpose of the PSAT exam is to familiarize students with timed college entrance testing and with the general format of the SAT (check out free practice resources on the College Board website). The results of the PSAT exam in the junior year are also used to qualify students for the National Merit Scholarship Competition. We encourage students who earned a National Merit Selection Index (SI) of 185 or higher on the PSAT as sophomores to consider some preparation for this year’s PSAT, as it is possible that, as juniors, these students may score highly enough to qualify for recognition as National Merit Semi-Finalists or Commended Students. IMPORTANT NOTE: Student accounts will be charged $20 for the exam. Register HERE no later than September 12, 2025.
