A Salute to First Responders

We invite Providence Academy parents to join us on Friday, September 11, for a special September 11 Tribute and Salute to First Responders as we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.
The tribute will include a procession of first responders, music, student participation, and remarks honoring those who lost their lives and those who have served and continue to serve our communities.

The program
9:30 a.m. First Responder Vehicle Parade
9:50 a.m. Ceremony on the front steps begin with Color Guard and Band
- National Anthem played by the Providence Academy Band
- Remarks by Dr. Todd R. Flanders, Mayor Jeff Wosje, and T. John Cunningham, Assistant Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety
- Taps played by First Responder Bugler
- Amazing Grace played on the bagpipes

Parent parking and arrival
Parents attending the ceremony are strongly encouraged to arrive by 9:00 a.m. and park in the Front West Lot. The front lots will close promptly at 9:15 a.m.
Students and faculty are parking offsite on Friday, so space in the front lots will be available until they close. Please allow extra time to park and make your way to the ceremony area, as portions of campus will be closed to traffic ahead of the event.

A note about viewing
We are grateful to have our Providence families join us for this meaningful tribute. Because this is a student centered ceremony, students should have the preferred viewing areas. We kindly ask parents to fill in behind students whenever possible so our students have the best view.
