Student Council

Student Council

The purpose of the Providence Academy Upper School Student Council is to empower students to live out the school’s mission under the guidance of elected leaders who actively elicit and utilize student input in order to build a community of mutual support through service activities and social events. Student Council members are expected to exemplify the highest standards of behavior as young men and women in both personal comportment and adherence to school policies.

The Student Council serves as a representative of the entire student body and works in conjunction with teachers and administrators to discuss community issues and improve student life. The major duties of the Student Council are to set the tone of the school by modeling respectful behavior and personal responsibility; to promote a positive relationship among members of the Providence Academy community; to run class meetings and address student concerns; to coordinate the activities of the various Upper School clubs and organizations; to plan service activities and social events, including Homecoming Week and Catholic Schools Week; to generate and encourage school spirit; and to serve as the leaders of the student community alongside the House Leaders.
