The Lower School is currently participating in two different service projects to support our local and international communities.
The first is our Family Service Project, which will take place in the Great Room on Sunday, March 4, from 2:00-3:30 p.m. This project, sponsored by PAPA thanks to proceeds from the Fall Fun Fair, will feature six different activities, one of which involves making Easter baskets to provide children living in transitional housing (i.e., moving from homelessness to a permanent home). PAPA needs your help to make this year’s event a success: see the attached flyer to learn which items are needed for the Easter basket activity. If you have any questions, please contact the project’s chair, Mrs. Judy Osei at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The second is our Lenten almsgiving project for Living Water. As shared via the Cubsites last week, this is a project coordinated through the Center for Mission through the archdiocese. Each Lower School student received a Living Water calendar and a Living Water bottle to “collect change to bring change” for a better life for those in Kitui, Kenya. Water is scare in Kitui, and because we live in the “Land of 10,000 Lakes,” we may not fully comprehend the reality of water scarcity that exists around the world. We want to emphasize that donations should come from the students so they are active participants in helping the children of Kitui. For more information, refer to the post “Living Water Lenten Project” via your student’s classroom Cub Site.
