A review of the past week in Providence Academy Athletics.

Girls Hockey:

On Saturday, November 16, Minnehaha United opened their home schedule against Albert Lea and fell to the Tigers 3-2. After going down 3-0, United came storming back with sophomore Ava Wasserman scoring a short-handed goal to close out the second period. United picked up another goal halfway through the third period, but wasn’t able to find the equalizer.

On Tuesday, November 19, the girls traveled to Inver Grove Heights to take on Simley High School. United was shutout by the Spartans 5-0.

Next up: Tonight, United hosts the Henry Sibley/St. Paul co-op. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7:00 p.m.

Girls Basketball:

The Lions opened their season on the road at neighboring Maranatha Christian Academy. Balanced scoring and tenacious defense allowed PA to top the Mustangs 53-46. Scoring details can be found at MN Girls Basketball Hub.

Next up: On Tuesday, November 26, PA travels to Watertown-Mayer High School to take on the Royals. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
