Substitutes Needed
If you know someone who is qualified and interested in becoming a Lower School substitute teacher at P.A., encourage the person to contact Mrs. Gregory at . Substitutes may request to be placed on the call list for days that fit their schedules. Substitutes may also specify areas of experience for assignments (i.e. primary grades, art, music, etc.)
We are also looking for a regular substitute (part-time/ hourly position) to commit to being at school daily for a variety of assignments that may come up during each day. Qualifications include:
- Strong support of school’s Catholic mission and focus
- Experience with teaching or managing groups of elementary age students
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
Kindergarten Assistant (Part-Time, Hourly, 12:30-4:30, some flexibility in hours)
- Consistently support and reinforce the teacher’s goals and objectives
- Assist students, individually or in small groups, with lesson assignments provided by the teacher
- Maintain classroom equipment, work area, for the purpose of ensuring availability of items; providing a safe learning environment, and/or meeting mandated requirements.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess and free play periods, assist in supervision of students during specialist class periods
- Assist teacher with preparation of lesson materials and organization of supplies and curricular materials
- Provide supervision in after-school care until 4:30 pm
- Maintain flexibility as a full “team member” in meeting classroom and school-wide goals.
- Assist the teacher in providing a positive learning environment by applying behavior expectations in a consistent manner while respecting the child’s dignity.
- Communicate with students, teachers, support staff, and parents in a positive manner
Requirements:
- Support the Catholic mission of Providence Academy
- High School diploma required.
- Experience working with or supervising young children in a preschool or group activity setting.
Recess Supervisor (Part-Time, Hourly, 10 am – 1 pm)
- Monitor the free play time of Lower School students.
- Help children to play and learn in a safe and positive environment
Requirements:
- Strong support of the Catholic mission of Providence Academy
- High School diploma required.
- Experience working with or supervising young children in an elementary or preschool or group activity setting.
