Register for College Essay Workshops by June 9

Our June College Essay Workshop is scheduled for Friday, June 16, 2023. This workshop will provide students with the opportunity to explore essay topic ideas with the help of guided brainstorming exercises and one-on-one consultation with the college counselors. The June Workshop is a great option for students interested in starting their writing process earlier in the summer and/or those who have a conflict with Bootcamp.

This year’s College Application Bootcamp will run from M-Th, July 31 –August 3, 2023.   Bootcamp is a four-day workshop and participants should plan to be busy from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on those days. Students unable to attend all days of Bootcamp must speak with their college counselor before registering for the program.  Bootcamp serves as a writing workshop to guide students towards the composition of compelling and distinctive college essays, but includes other important activities, including interview preparation, alumni sharing advice, plus candid feedback from admission professionals on essays, resumes, and interviews.

Register using the College Bootcamp Registration Form and June Essay Day Registration Form, no later than June 9.

Providence Academy and Breakaway Test Prep are offering small group ACT instruction this summer. For Freshmen (and Sophomores/Juniors) – Register for College Visit Field Trips in June

·         Register for the June 28 College Visit Field Trip to St. Olaf/Gustavus

·         Register for the June 29 College Visit Field Trip to UST/CSB-SJU

All Upper School Students (i.e. rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors) are invited to register for a PA-sponsored college field trips to 1) Gustavus Adolphus College and St. Olaf College and 2) University of St. Thomas and College of Saint Benedict/Saint John’s University on June 28 and 29, respectively. The days will include tours of the campuses, admissions and financial aid information sessions (plus a special session with faculty from UST’s Department of Catholic Studies).  Whether your students are already interested in one of these colleges or want to use this as an opportunity to add to their college visit experiences, the visits promise to be both enjoyable and helpful.  Visiting colleges is one of the most useful ways to start to determine your college criteria. Visits to our local Minnesota campuses – whether as part of this field trip or on your own – can help to confirm the characteristics of a campus and academic program that are most important to your family.

We are honored to accompany your students through the college process. Please feel free to contact your assigned counselor at any time with questions or concerns about any college-related topic. For students (and their parents) seeking a meeting time with their assigned college counselor, please consult our online calendars to schedule:
