Wrestling Tournament COVID-19 Outbreak
If you have a child in K-8 and they participated in The Northland Youth Wrestling Association 2021 State Wrestling Tournament in Sioux Falls, SD over spring break, please contact the health office at 763-258-2507.
Symptoms
Checking your child’s symptoms each morning using the Home Screening Tool will help evaluate if they are well enough to come to school. If they have symptoms, please continue to use the MDH Decision Tree to determine if they need to be tested. When one child has symptoms and is tested, the other family members stay home until you have the results.
As Minnesota continues to see cases rise, schools are noting the rise within their student body. The number of faculty and staff developing COVID-19 has remained relatively steady, with many in education having received their vaccine. Please remain watchful for symptoms in your child.
Student Vaccinations
With our US students now qualifying to receive their vaccine, here are some points to keep in mind.
If my student is a close contact from a school or household exposure, do they need to quarantine?
No, if:
- the COVID-19 exposure was at least 14 days after their vaccination series was fully completed
- they do not currently have any symptoms of COVID-19
If my student is identified as a close contact and then develops symptoms, what should they do?
- Stay home, get tested or get an alternate diagnosis
If my student develops symptoms and they have not been exposed to someone with COVID-19, what should they do?
- Use the MDH Decision Tree, stay home, get tested or get an alternate diagnosis
