After six years with the Providence Academy boys basketball organization, Mr. Ariel McDonald has officially stepped down as the varsity boys basketball head coach. Mr. McDonald has been the head coach since the 2016 season and previously served as an assistant coach since 2013.

McDonald departs having created a basketball program that grew from an 8-17 to a 16-11 record, secured a third place finish in the ever competitive Independent Metro Athletic Conference, and garnered the most success in Section 5AA play ever experienced by Providence Academy.

Athletic Director Mr. Daren Messmore said, “Coach McDonald will leave the PA boys basketball program better off than before he arrived. The feedback we have received from the boys basketball players in regard to Coach McDonald was always positive. We wish him the very best in his new calling.”

A search will commence immediately for a new boys basketball program head.
