Dear Providence community,
In anticipation of the end of the school year, The Providence Academy Parent Association (PAPA) would like to take this time to thank all the parents that volunteered for our school during this past school year. This year would not have been the same without the community-building events that you made possible.
The largest PAPA event of the year was the Providence Gala. This year, we went back to the 80’s. The piano bar and dance floor were very popular, and the silent auction was brought back by popular demand. Thanks to all those involved: Jillian Twaddle and the Gala committee, our fun MC, Kristi Piehl, and our own Master Chef, Marshal. Thanks to all of you, we were able to raise one of the largest amounts ever for our school. Next year’s Gala will be on February 22nd, 2020.
It is with great gratitude that I come to the end of my time on the Executive Committee for PAPA. I served as both upper school vice-president and president. I have enjoyed connecting with other parents over the past 4 years, and many of you have become my good friends. This is actually good timing for our family, because we will welcome our first grandchild this summer.
PAPA is a service organization, so again we say thank you to all the parents who “say yes” when asked to volunteer with PAPA, especially the new PAPA Executive Committee! The new PAPA president Diane Beauchamp and the Executive committee are busy planning next year’s activities. However, as I always say, the people on page 9 of the directory cannot do everything. So if you would like to get involved, please go to the volunteer signup genius listed under the PAPA heading on the website. This is where volunteer opportunities will be listed as they arise.
Like you, we have our children attend Providence because of the deep faith community found here. I hope that over the summer we all take the time to thank God for the parents, students, faculty and staff of Providence Academy.
President of Providence Academy Parent Association
