We mourn the passing of Craig Nelson, who served on the Providence Academy Board of Directors for more than twenty years, and was involved in the founding of the school. Mr. Nelson had served 17 years of a long and distinguished career as headmaster of Minnehaha Academy. He was a font of knowledge, wisdom, and encouragement about school headship, and was a key mentor to me. He brought the same attributes to all aspects of Board service, with special gifts in the area of school finance and business affairs. Craig was preceded in death by his wonderful wife Betty, who was herself a source of joy and confidence for us all in early years.
Mr. Nelson was buried Saturday in a family plot in St. Paul. Eternal rest grant unto him, O God. And let perpetual light shine upon him.
