COVID Testing Available for Students
In partnership with the Minnesota Department of Education and Department of Health, Providence will offer COVID testing for Middle and Upper School students.
Minnesota schools have been assigned one day every other week to offer testing. Our first day is May 7th. Here are the key points to know:
- Providence provides the testing kits. Students take them home and initiate a Zoom call with Vault Health to complete the test.
- Test kits can be picked up outside of the Student Service Office on Thursday, May 6 from 3:15 to 3:30. They are to be returned before school on Friday, May 7 to the same location.
- Directions for completing the call will be sent home with the kits. They will also be posted in next week’s e-bulletin and on the COVID webpage.
- The purpose is to screen for asymptomatic cases. Testing is only for students without symptoms and no known exposure to COVID.
- If your child has symptoms or has been exposed to someone with COVID, testing must be completed through an outside provider.
- This is voluntary.
- Results are not sent to the school. Any positive test results should be reported to the health office.
- This is available for Middle and Upper School students.
- The additional test dates are May 21st and June 4th.
