For several years the Lower School at Providence Academy has partnered with the Archdiocese and Living Water as part of our Easter season almsgiving. This service project helps our young students to recognize needs in the larger world. Your child will receive a Living Water calendar with information, prayers and daily reflections, and a Living Water bottle to “collect change to bring about change” for a better life for those in Kitui, Kenya. Your child can reflect on the calendar’s daily entry as instructed by the classroom teacher, and consider fasting from beverages other than water while eating out or ordering takeaway, putting the money saved in the water bottle. Participation is entirely optional for each student/family.
We will be participating in this project during the Easter season. The water bottles and calendars were sent home on Thursday, April 14. The collections will go from April 18-May 9.
