Seven of our seniors were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program. Out of the 16,000 seniors named as National Merit Semifinalists, two of them are PA students, and out of the top 50,000 scorers of the 1.6 million students who entered the 2020 competition by taking the PSAT/NMSQT® as juniors, four of our seniors were recognized as National Merit Commended students. In addition, we have one senior who’s been named as part of the National Hispanic Recognition Program, which recognizes about 7,000 outstanding Hispanic/Latino juniors each year who take the PSAT/NMSQT®.

It is a testimony to our students, teachers, families, and curriculum that nearly ten percent of our senior class has received these honors. We are, of course, delighted and proud of these scholars, and of all of our students, who have chosen to commit to the special path in academics, arts, and athletics that is Providence Academy.

Congratulations to Semifinalists Justin Kim and Peter Flanders; to Commended Students Sara Anne Festin, Emily Foley, Sofia Orlandi and Helena Peppin; and to Hispanic Recognition Program honoree Candido Palomarez.
