College Planning Night for Juniors is scheduled for Tuesday, November 17 at 6:30 p.m. and serves as our kick-off event for the junior year in college counseling.  This year’s event will be virtual-only and we strongly encourage both juniors and parents to sign on for this program.  We are also happy to invite any Upper School parent, whether a parent of a junior or not, to sign on for this program.

We are very excited to welcome as keynote speaker Mr. Jacques Steinberg, bestselling author, and former Senior Editor/National Education Correspondent for The New York Times.  Mr. Steinberg has been an eminent voice in the journalistic coverage of higher education and college admission since the publication of his bestselling book The Gatekeepers in 2003.  He has served on the board of the National Association for College Admission Counseling and appears periodically as a college admission expert on NBC’s Today show.  Earlier this fall he published, along with University of Pennsylvania’s Dean of Admissions Mr. Eric Furda, a new book on the college search entitled The College Conversation: a Practical Companion for Parents to Guide Their Children Along the Path to Higher Education.  We are eager to lead a wide-ranging conversation between Mr. Steinberg and the students and parents of Providence Academy’s Class of 2022!

For more information on purchasing Mr. Steinberg’s new book, The College Conversation, please click here (this is optional and not necessary to benefit from his talk).  The access link will be emailed directly to all Upper School parents.
