As we begin to close out this school year the last order of business for the PAPA Exec Committee is to solicit new members to replace the positions whose terms are coming to an end.  PAPA Exec Committee members serve for two-year terms and our primary purpose is as a service organization to support the PA community.  We will have four positions open and encourage anyone interested in serving on PAPA to nominate themselves.  The Executive Committee meets monthly for 1 – 2 hours and each position has an area of focus as described below:

  • President – Sets the agenda for and runs the monthly Papa meetings.  Meets periodically with Dr. Flanders, Head of School.
  • Vice President – Facilitates activities that do not fall within a specific division and fills in for the President.
  • Upper School, Vice President – Represents Grades 9-12 at Executive Committee meetings, meets periodically with Mrs. Harrington, Director of Upper School.
  • Lower School 3-5, Vice President – Represents Grades 3-5 at Executive Committee meetings, meets periodically with Mrs. Galgano, Director of Lower School.  Team with Terra Otto, Pre-K – Grade 2 Vice President, to coordinate lower school room parents and other volunteers throughout the year.

Nominating yourself is simple – please complete the Google Form found at this link.  Please submit your nomination by May 7.  While self-nomination is preferred, nominations of others are accepted.

In addition, Papa will be hosting the annual Parent Meeting at the school next Monday, April 26 at 8:30 in the Performing Arts Center Lobby (PAC).  The annual meeting provides an opportunity for any parent to meet the members of the PAPA board, ask questions concerning open positions, and provide feedback on the year.

We would like to thank Diane Beauchamp, Debbie Larson, Lizzie Hilberg, and Dani  Johansen  who served in these roles the last 2 years.  If you have questions about a particular role or PAPA in general, please feel free to reach out to any of the Papa Executive committee members or stop by the Annual Meeting on April 26th.
