A good Catholic school is about the good news. That news is that each person, that each child, is so loved by God that He gave his only-begotten Son for each. God has a plan for our welfare, not our woe. The events of this week reveal God’s plan, and the astonishing, shocking way he brought it about–not only despite what is worst in us, but on account of it. He saves us. He redeems us. It’s why we’re a people of hope, a people of faith, and a people of love. Because He first loved us. Let’s enter into that mystery.
