Providence Hockey Welcomes 2020-21 Coaching Crew

National Letter of Intent Signing
Senior Sofia Caballero signed her National Letter of Intent to play Soccer at the University of St. Thomas on Wednesday. Below is a message from her coaches:
Sofia from day one has had an incredible influence on the program, consistently being someone to rely on. She has remarkable talent and has single handedly impacted the success of the team. More than anything, it is really fun to just watch her play. She weaves in and out of defenders with ease and makes plays out of nothing. Her incredible skill is matched by her knowledge of the game which has earned her many awards. To name just a few, All-Conference Honorable mention 2017, All Conference Team 2019 & 2020, All State Team 2020, 2020 Team MVP and Minnesota Thunder Academy Most Valuable Player 2018. She has continually impacted the program through her field play and ideas on how to improve the game. Off the field Sofia is just as impressive as she is on the field. For example she is a member of the National Honor Society, is a House Leader and is involved with peer tutoring. She is an AP Scholar and received the Dartmouth College Book Award. After an outstanding performance this year in the 2020 season, Sofia rightfully earned herself a spot on the All-State team. She has been a huge gift to this program and we are so excited for what is to come for her at St. Thomas. The Tommies are really lucky to have her.
Alpine Skiing
Registration for the Alpine Ski cooperative is now open. The process has changed rather significantly after the collapse of FeePay. This is the link to the Alpine Skiing Registration page on the MWHS Activities Website.
There is no longer a need for families to obtain Guest Student ID numbers nor will they need to create a login or password to access the Website. They will need to know the date of the student’s physical that you have on file in order to complete the online registration form. Any registration questions can be directed to me (); any program/team related questions can be directed to Coach Johnson ().
Volleyball
This week volleyball fell to Breck on Monday. Coach said, “We are still working on our consistency. When we show up as a team at our best, we are hard to beat. We need to find ways to show up as that team all the time.” Captains, Kate Allerheiligen and Maria Counts, are stepping up as leaders and pushing themselves and the rest of the team to get better every day. The team is focused at practices this week leading into a Friday game versus United Christian Academy and games next week against Mounds Park Academy on Monday and Legacy Christian on Thursday.
