Mrs. Burkhartzmeyer teaches Middle and Upper School Latin I and II classes at Providence Academy. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Classics (with an emphasis in Latin) and Political Science from Gustavus Adolphus College and a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University. Prior to teaching, Mrs. Burkhartzmeyer expressed her love of language through journalism. She was Senior Producer of an Emmy-award winning, daily news show at WFLD-TV in Chicago. She has also worked as a newspaper reporter and on-air TV news reporter, including a position as a Washington D.C. correspondent. Mrs. Burkhartzmeyer has diverse experience writing for websites, radio and video productions, and has been published by the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series.
