Mrs. Annette Hildebrandt teaches Upper School math at Providence Academy and serves as chairman of the Academy's Department of Math. She joined Providence from Wahlert Catholic High School in Dubuque, Iowa. Mrs. Hildebrandt has more than sixteen years of teaching experience and has served as past department chair and on several curriculum and school improvement committees while in the public sector. Mrs. Hildebrandt has also been an adjunct professor for both the University of Northern Iowa and Upper Iowa University. She has been very involved in her profession, spending summers in Boston and California teaching other teachers the concepts of discrete math, technology and alternative assessments. Mrs. Hildebrandt has won several awards and honors, including the Iowa State Presidential Award for mathematics teaching, 1997 Wal-Mart Corporation’s Teacher of the Year, and the Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics education from the University of Northern Iowa and a master’s degree in secondary education from Viterbo University.
