Providence Academy is a private, Catholic, co-educational PreK-12 college preparatory school. It is located on 42-acres along Schmidt Lake Road in Plymouth, Minnesota. This beautiful setting provides an ideal environment for learning. Secure and convenient, the location possesses an atmosphere of tranquility as it is nestled in a residential area.

With all grades under one roof, Providence Academy offers an ideal educational environment for families. While Lower School, Middle School and High School are housed in separate wings of the building, there is a tolerance and respect for students of all ages. Siblings can attend school in the same location with identical start and end times for convenient transportation. Throughout the year, students are paired with an older or younger “buddy” to work on special service or social projects that truly benefit all.

The building itself is modeled on the Georgian colonial style of the Christopher Wren Building at the college of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Stately white columns line the dining room and auditorium area. The interior is painted with cheerful tones of yellow creating a clean, uplifting feeling that is also true to the colonial period style.

With 238,000 square feet, there are spacious, comfortably designed classrooms and many specialty rooms within the building. Included are science and computer laboratories, a large seminar room with graduated seating, an Engineering Lab with metal and wood shop, and two libraries. Fine arts classes utilize large band and choir rooms with practice areas, an “artist loft” art studio, and a performance stage. A beautiful chapel is the center point of the school and holds approximately 280 students. Providence Academy offers students the finest facilities in which to hone their academic and life skills.
Most athletics are held on the campus itself using four gymnasiums, a soccer, football and softball field, seven tennis courts and a track. Providence’s boys’ hockey team has their home ice at the Plymouth Ice Center, located two miles from campus.
