Three Providence Academy Students Earn TwinWest Chamber of Commerce Scholarships

(June 3^rd, 2009) – Providence Academy Class of 2009 graduate Meghan Mazza was awarded a Designated Scholarship through The TwinWest Foundation.  Mazza’s scholarship was supported by a financial donation to the Foundation from Caliber Development Corporation of Maple Grove.

TwinWest Chamber of Commerce has long been a supporter of higher education and the development of future leaders.  The Foundation awarded $57,000 to 58 graduating seniors this year.  Mazza, a resident of Maple Grove, graduated with honors in an evening ceremony held at the Academy on May 29^th.  She plans to attend Boston College in the fall.

Providence students also receiving scholarship awards from TwinWest included Caleb Scherber of Rogers who was honored with a Partner Scholarship supported by Cass Screw Machine Products, and Anjelica Boemer of Medina who won a Cornerstone Scholarship.  Scherber will attend the University of St. Thomas in the fall, and Boemer will attend Creighton University in Nebraska.  “I am honored by the award and feel grateful that a local group is working to help support my education,” said Boemer.

Overall the Providence Academy graduating class of 54 was offered approximately 1.88 million dollars in four year academic scholarship awards from their chosen schools.  Of the students earning merit based dollars the average award amount per student came to approximately $80,000.00 over four years.
