Providence Academy Student Wins With Fire Prevention Poster(November 30, 2007) – Providence Academy 4th grade student, Grace Cummins, recently won honors from the Plymouth Fire Department. During National Fire Prevention Month the department sponsored its annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest, open to all 4th and 5th grade students in the Plymouth area. Armed with her computer savvy, a red pen, and some creativity Grace designed a fire prevention poster entitled “Practice Your Escape Plan”. Cork Ornburg of the Plymouth Fire Department visited Providence to present Grace with a t-shirt and a $15.00 check in honor of her winning poster. When asked what she might do with her winnings Grace said she still wasn’t sure, but that winning was really pretty cool!
