May 8, 2008	First Grade Students Celebrate Minnesota's Sesquicentennial As Minnesota gears up for it Sesquicentennial on May 11^th, 2008 the first grade students of Providence Academy are learning about the history of our great state.
April 17, 2008	Providence Academy Hosts Second Annual College Fair Providence Academy will host its second annual College Fair on Wednesday, April 23. Representatives from 100 of the nation’s finest colleges, universities, and military academies will be on hand to meet with students, parents, and members of the Academy’s faculty and staff.
April 10, 2008	A Mind for Math Equals A Win At Local Math Counts Competition Scott Stankey, a Providence Academy sixth grade student, placed seventh overall in individual competition at the City of the Lakes Chapter Math Counts Tournament.
April 8, 2008	Semi-Annual Blood Drive a Success at Providence Academy The Memorial Blood Center recently hosted their spring blood drive at Providence Academy. Fifteen new donors joined many regulars in giving blood. The next drive is scheduled for Monday, November 3rd from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
March 24, 2008	Providence Academy Triple "A" Winner Bounces Her Way onto the Next Level Providence Academy Senior basketball player Katie Finley was recently chosen from a pool of finalists representing 56 schools in the region as the female Region 4A Triple “A” Award winner for the 2007-08 school year. A total of eight female and eight male athletes in Class A are honored as Regional winners. This is the highest award granted by the Minnesota State High School League.
March 5, 2008	Providence Academy Students Named to All-State and Regional Honor Bands Tony Pistilli recently performed on tenor saxophone at Orchestra Hall as a member of the MMEA All-State Symphonic Band. His award is the first of its kind for a music student from Providence Academy.
Feb. 29, 2008	"SnowDay" Celebrates Minnesota Winters Elm Creek Park Reserve and Afton Alps were "snow day" venues for Providence Academy students in grades 6-12.
Feb. 29, 2008	Providence Academy Students Named National Merit Finalists Two Providence Academy seniors, Chris Kopp of Medina and Abby Letak of Plymouth, were recently honored as National Merit Scholarship Finalists.
Feb. 14, 2008	Providence Academy Students Win Regional Science Olympiad Awards Providence Academy recently hosted the west suburban Regional Science Olympiad tournament. All the students put their best effort forth in order to claim places in the State Tournament.
Jan. 10, 2008	Benefits on Both Sides When Giving to Others Providence Academy students, involved in several outreach projects over the holidays, find that they like making a difference in the lives of others. Claire Commers' 7th Annual Mitten Tree collects 184 items.
Dec. 20, 2007	Audra Kaczmarek Gobbles Up Turkey Coloring Contests Audra Kaczmarek uses her creativity and coloring skills to become a top winner in the Star Tribune's Turkey Coloring Contest for the third time!
Dec. 17, 2007	Quiz Bowl Competition Finds Providence Academy in the Top Ten Hayden Kunz, Alexandra Tilton, Jason Witcraft and Alexa Azarian compete in the 14th annual Eighth Grade Catholic Schools' Quiz Bowl held at the University of St. Thomas.
Dec. 13, 2007	Providence Academy Excel Award Winners Excel in Sports, Academics & Leadership Samantha Zopfi and Matt Kopp were recently named Providence Academy’s Excel Award winners for the 2007-08 school year. Excel is the Minnesota State High School League award standing for Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership.
Dec. 7, 2007	First Annual Providence Academy Sleep-Out A Chilly Success About 50 Providence Academy students braved chilly temperatures on Dec. 7th to participate in a Sleep-Out for Interfaith Outreach and Community Partners.
Nov. 30, 2007	Grace Cummins Creates Award-Winning Fire Prevention Poster During National Fire Prevention Month the Plymouth Fire Department sponsored its annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest, open to all 4^th and 5^th grade students in the Plymouth area. Grace Cummins won the award at Providence Academy.

Oct. 29, 2007	New Book Offers “Sight-Size” Approach to Art A new book, Cast Drawing Using the Sight-Size Approach by Darren Rousar, promotes an arrangement that allows artists to accurately compare their work with nature in one glance, without refocusing the eye or having to transpose sizes in the mind.
Oct. 22, 2007	Providence Academy Named One of the Nation's Best for Four Consecutive Years Providence was honored once again by being the only Minnesota school to make the Catholic High School Honor Roll's top 50. The Academy is one of only eleven schools that have been continually selected for the award since its inception in 2004.

August 27, 2007	Radio Personality Dennis Prager Speaks At Providence Academy A crowd of nearly 300 gathered at Providence Academy to hear Dennis Prager speak on his radio experience as well as current issues.
June 5, 2007	Nationally-Recognized Commentator Gives Academy’s Third Commencement Address The Reverend Robert Sirico was the featured speaker on Friday, June 1^st at the Academy’s third graduation ceremony.

April 1, 2007	Providence Academy Announces Lion’s Scholarship Grant Winners Providence Academy proudly announces its Lion’s Scholarship Grant winners for the 2007-2008 school year.
Feb. 15, 2007	Providence Academy Students Swing to Big Band At the request of its high school students, Providence Academy wrapped up Catholic Schools Week with a semi-formal swing dance on Saturday, February 3^rd.
Oct. 5th, 2006	Providence Academy Students Recognized in National Merit Scholarship Program Five Providence Academy seniors, ten percent of the senior class, have been recognized as part of the 2007 National Merit Scholarship Program. Three of the students earned commended honors and two students are semifinalists in the competition.
Sept. 27th, 2006	Providence Academy Named Among "50 Best" in Nation for Third Year Running Providence Academy was honored once again by being named one of the best 50 Catholic secondary schools in America. Providence is the only school in Minnesota to make the Catholic High School Honor Roll’s top 50.
Sept. 6th, 2006	Providence Academy Parent Makes Hole-In-One To Win a New Car First-time tournament participant and new Providence Academy parent John Daugherty had no idea that the Third Annual Providence Academy Golf Classic would be anything other than a round of golf with some new friends
September 2006	1,2,3,4,5...And Counting Nearly 400,000 lunches have been served. A time capsule has been buried. Graduates have been accepted to Ivy League and other top colleges. And new students are still arriving at Providence Academy, which celebrated five years of operation on September 5th.
July 2006	Providence Academy's New Wing Opens Providence Academy’s new 94,000 square feet addition is now open for the 2006-07 school year.
December 2005	A Christmas Carol Books and Memorabilia on Display at Providence During the Christmas Season, Providence Academy’s head custodian, John “Scooby” Wagner presents his collection of rare memorabilia from the Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol to the Academy’s fourth and eight graders in addition to performing his typical maintenance duties.
December 2005	Providence Academy Celebrates Stewardship During the month of November, Providence Academy students celebrated stewardship as part of the Core Knowledge Curriculum’s Core Virtue program.
October 2005	Providence Academy Recognizes Its 2006 National Merit Semifinalists Two Providence Academy seniors have been recognized as semifinalists in the 2006 National Scholarship competition. Kathleen Ojeda is the daughter of Randy and Debbie Ojeda and Natalie Dehen is the daughter of Marty and Carrie Dehen. Both are Plymouth residents.
Sept. 2005	Providence Academy Among Top 50 Catholic High Schools Named for 2005 For the second year in a row, Providence Academy has been named one of the top 50 Catholic secondary schools in America as part of the Catholic High School Honor Roll.
June 1st, 2005	Providence Academy Celebrates Its First Graduation Class with Commencement Speaker George Weigel George Weigel was the featured speaker on Wednesday, June 1^st at Providence Academy’s inaugural graduation ceremony.
March 2005	Providence Academy Student Places First at Science Olympiad State Meet Providence Academy seventh grader Daniel Mokhtari took first place in the bridge building competition during the Science Olympiad State Meet on Saturday, March 5^th at the University of St. Thomas.
March 2005	Providence Academy Middle School Students Fold Pocket Flags For Troops As part of a Lenten service project, Providence Academy Middle School students sent 300 pocket-sized flags to troops serving on the front lines through the Pocket Flag Project^TM.
February 2005	Providence Academy Recognizes Its First National Merit Finalist Providence Academy senior Christopher Byrne, son of Dennis and Bonita Byrne of Maple Grove, has been recognized as a finalist in the 2005 National Merit Scholarship Program.
